Your Partner in the Growth Transition

Transition Capital Partners (“TCP”) is a Southlake, TX based private equity investment firm. Founded in 1993, TCP has successfully invested in over 50 middle market companies spanning a diverse array of industries.

TCP partners with management teams to build sustainable value in businesses over the long-term, without the artificial constraints fundraising cycles create for traditional private equity funds. With more than thirty years of proven success, we have a long track record of collaborating with our partners to accelerate the growth of middle market companies.

Why Us?

Private equity, done a little differently

We do think we are a little different. In a nutshell, we are small, experienced, focused, all-in committed, and crazy passionate about what we do and why it matters.  Our management partners, company employees, customers, vendors, lenders, and our investors are all incredibly important constituents that expect and deserve our focus and unwavering commitment.

Experience matters

Founded in 1993 and with over 50 platform acquisitions completed, we have been successfully investing in middle market companies for three decades. We believe our reputation for being a value-added partner has been earned through real experience, both our successes and our failures.

Passion for the Partnership

Partnership with our management teams drives everything we do. It’s the reason we exist.  We wake up every day thinking about the well-being of our management partners, thinking about their opportunities and challenges, and how we can help.  We truly believe the people in our businesses are our business.

Small, for a Reason

TCP is a small, focused investment team, for a reason. We take our partnerships with management teams very seriously and we believe that it is people and relationships that make the difference. We only make one to two new investments per year so we can concentrate on providing our management partners with the time, attention and contribution that they expect and deserve.

Solid Foundations

At TCP, we are as invested in our own partnership as we are in our portfolio companies.  In 2020 as the world was hunkering down and going virtual, TCP was once again going against the grain.  We bought a building.  Where nowadays most private equity groups work out of non-descript office space, if they even have an office at all, we bought a unique property to invest in our partnership, our community, and our brand.  We are a little different than the typical private equity group, and our work home demonstrates that.  Come visit us.

Cash

Every team needs a mascot, and TCP is no exception. Our resident shop dog, Cash, can be found lounging around the office most days. He is just another example of how Transition Capital Partners does private equity a little differently.

WE INVEST IN TEXAS

And Beyond

While we invest in companies headquartered throughout the United States, we passionately believe in the strength and resilience of the Texas economy and the management teams that choose to build businesses here. As a result, we have completed more than 20 acquisitions here and will always proudly “fly the Lone Star flag”.
